Discord Bot

The TipFunder Discord Bot allows you to receive tips directly through your Discord server. This guide will walk you through the installation and usage of the TipFunder Discord Bot.

1. Requirements

  • Discord account
  • TipFunder account
  • Administrator permissions on the Discord server where you want to install the bot

2. Install the Bot

  1. Click the "Add to Discord" button
  2. Then select the Discord server where you want to install the bot. Note: You must have administrator rights on that server.
  3. Review the requested permissions (read messages, send messages, use slash commands, embed links) and click "Authorize".
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA verification if prompted.
  5. You will see a confirmation message: "Authorized". You can now close the browser window.
  6. Return to your Discord server - the TipFunder Bot should now appear in the member list.

3. First Steps

Before you can send tips, you need to add creators to your server or link your TipFunder account with Discord:

  1. Open any text channel in your Discord server.
  2. Type / to open the slash command menu.
  3. Select /creator-add from the list.
  4. Enter the TipFunder username of the creator you want to add.
  5. Press Enter to confirm. The bot will verify the creator and add them to your server list.
  6. Repeat this process for all creators that should be able to receive tips.

4. Using the Bot

The bot uses Discord's slash commands (starting with /). Here are all available commands:

/creator-add [username]

Enable tipping for a creator or a creator group on your server. The username must match the TipFunder profile name.

/creator-remove

Shows a dropdown list of all added creators. Select one to remove them from your server list.

/creator-show

Displays all creators and their groups currently added to your server in an organized embed message.

/help

Shows a help message with all available commands and links to this guide.

/tip-quick [username] [amount]

Sends a tip directly without interactive menus. Example: /quick_tip JohnDoe 5.00

/tip-send

Starts an interactive tipping process:

  1. Select a creator from the list
  2. Enter the tip amount
  3. Confirm and complete payment via TipFunder.

/tip-suggest-item

Suggest a tip list item for others to pay.

/tip-result-channel

Reset the configured tip notification channel.

/tip-result-channel-reset

Reset the configured tip notification channel.

/user-leaderboard

Show the top tippers on the server.

/user-leaderboard-month

Show the top tippers of the current month.

/user-leaderboard-year

Show the top tippers of the current year.

5. How to Send a Tip

  1. Type /send_tip or /quick_tip in any channel.
  2. Select the creator you want to support from the dropdown menu (or enter username for /quick_tip).
  3. Enter the tip amount in your currency (e.g., 5.00).
  4. Click "Confirm" - you will receive a secure payment link.
  5. Complete the payment through TipFunder's secure checkout.
  6. Both you and the creator will receive a confirmation message.
  7. The creator gets notified about your tip and can thank you directly!
